NSW Aboriginal Economic Development Discussion Paper

A discussion paper for consultation on the development of a NSW Economic Development Policy has just been released. The Department of State and Regional Development is leading this work with support from the Department of Aboriginal Affairs.

The purpose of the policy is to clearly articulate what the NSW Government is currently doing to improve economic outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities in NSW and to set strategic direction for the coming years.

This is in recognition that a number of NSW Government agencies have a role in supporting Aboriginal economic development, but the programs and initiatives are not always linked and not communicated as part of a coherent strategy.
