On Country
Making access agreements for lands and waters in New South Wales
Access to Country enables Aboriginal people to continue practising culture as we have done for thousands of years. Culture is our identity and our stories come from the land and waters of Australia.
On Country provides Aboriginal people with information to help gain access to land and waters. It shows Aboriginal people how to negotiate a simple spoken agreement and a more formal agreement. It identifies legislation that provides for access and gives details of agencies and
organisations that can help with access matters.
