Minister meets with the Nanima Progress Association
07 October 2009Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Paul Lynch today met with the Nanima Progress Association.
Mr Lynch said today's visit was an opportunity to listen to the Association on its opportunities and challenges in job creation and training.
"The Nanima Progress Association is supporting more than 20 students to develop pathways into mainstream employment," he said.
Mr Lynch said the program was being delivered to young people aged 16 to 25.
"Participants are engaged in a range of vocational areas including fencing, carpentry, gardening, asbestos removal and chemical spraying," Mr Lynch said.
"This equips the students with great skills to help improve their employment options and building a stronger economic future for the community," he said.
