Support for Butucarbin Aboriginal Corporation
01 October 2009The NSW Government has dedicated $3300 for Butucarbin Aboriginal Corporation under the Community Working Party funding program.
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Paul Lynch said the funding would help support the operation of the Butucarbin Aboriginal Corporation support the local Mt Druitt Early Childhood Advisory group.
Member for Mt Druitt Richard Amery said community consultations held last year identified early childhood education as a key priority in the community.
The local community values the work of Butucarbin Aboriginal Corporation in supporting Aboriginal children and families, he said.
Early intervention and working with Aboriginal people are the keys to closing the gap in education outcomes in the Mt Druitt region, Mr Amery said.
This funding will support the valuable work of the Butucarbin Aboriginal Corporation staff and the people who rely on its services, he said.
