Support for Macarthur Aboriginal Young Women's Group
01 October 2009The NSW Government has dedicated $3300 to support the Macarthur Aboriginal Young Women's Group.
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Paul Lynch said the funding would help support the operation of the Group, which is a joint initiative of the Tharawal Local Aboriginal Land Council, Campbelltown Family Support and WILMA Women's Health Centre.
Member for Camden Geoff Corrigan said the Group provided young Aboriginal women with access to information, support and workshops.
The NSW Government is pleased to be able to support an organisation that works hard to help close the gap in health, social and education outcomes in our region, he said.
Member for Campbelltown Graham West said WILMA would deliver the services for the group.
WILMA offers counselling, natural therapies, women's health checks, as well as a legal advice and referral services, Mr West said.
