New leadership team at the Department

As part of this process we have a new executive team to support the Director General, Jody Broun, lead the reform of the Department to ensure we continue to be more effective and innovative in meeting the needs of the NSW Aboriginal community.
MARCIA ELLA-DUNCAN
Marcia is a Yuin woman from the south coast and has taken on the role as Executive Director of Policy and Regulation. Her team will work to deliver on the Aboriginal Affairs Plan Two Ways Together. Marcia was previously the ATSIC Sydney Regional Chairperson and was also the first Aboriginal woman to play on the national netball team.
JONATHAN WASSELL
Jonathan is the new Director of Executive and Business Strategy, he comes to the Department from the Aboriginal Housing Office where he worked for the past 5 years. Jonathan is working to improve the Department's business processes.
STEVE MERRITT
Steve is a Wiradjuri man who has moved from being the Department's Deputy Director General to now take on the position as the Executive Director of Communities and Programs. Steve's focus will be to ensure access and equity of services to Aboriginal people in NSW, by working in partnership with Commonwealth and State Government agencies and Aboriginal communities.
