A new report detailing the history and cultural association of Aboriginal people with the Biamanga and Gulaga national parks was launched on 17 February 2005.
Fighting Middle ear infections
More than 7,000 Aboriginal children have been screened for otitis media throughout NSW in a bid to reduce the infection among Aboriginal children, through the NSW Government's Aboriginal Affairs Plan, Two Ways Together.
First Indigenous Tourism Expo
Aboriginal cultural tourism was the focus of an expo held recently in Sydney. The 2005 'Corroboree' Indigenous Tourism Expo, which was partly funded by the Department, brought together Indigenous tourism operators from across Australia to promote an Indigenous tourism experience.
New leadership team at the Department
The Department is reaching the end of our restructure. As part of this process we have a new executive team to support the Director General, Jody Broun, lead the reform of the Department to ensure we continue to be more effective and innovative in meeting the needs of the NSW Aboriginal community.
